The Stables (Private)

After the little talk with Zachary and Olórin, I had walked out of the Library merely to calm down my feeling. My heart was pounding fast and my cheeks were flushed.
I'm having a date! I'm having a date!
I was so happy.
The door to the stables was open so I thought I could enjoy a little promenade on Katel, my favorite mare, a great frisian one.
Entering the stables noisily, I immediately saw Katel, with her great mane and large torso.

- Hey there, I said aloud. Comment tu vas, ma toute belle?

I took the blue head-collar that was hanging outside her box and attached it around her head.

I walked in slowly and saw a girl getting a horse ready to ride. I go over to my black mustang named traveler and put his saddle on

I noticed that other boy coming in.

- Hello, I cheerfully said.

I felt like talking to anybody today, hugging anyone.
With a lunge, I led Katel outside, careful not to let her hooves step on my or the boy's feet. I attached her outside the box and got her grooming case.

- Nice horse, I complimented the guy.

"hello and thanks" I say thinking how famillier she looks

"you have a nice one too" I say leading mine out carefully

- She doesn't belong to me, I replied, taking out the currycomb.

I started brushing Katel's neck in a circular motion, slowly and softly, to get all the dirt out of her magnificent black coat, while stroking her curly mane some.
I passed on to the shoulder, still brushing in circles.

- Is he yours? I asked, gesturing to his black horse, which I recognized to be a mustang.

"yes he's mine, I got him from america"
I say examining her trying to think wher I've seen her before

- Oh, you're from America? I asked, now brushing her back.

I looked up to the boy to notice he was looking at me. I smiled at him when I noticed his nose, eyes and eyebrows. They had a particular shape to them, a shape I hadn't seen in a long time - or perhaps had I seen them yesterday?
He reminded me of someone. He had my father's nose.

"no I'm Scottish and my mom was German" I say noticing the color of her eyes looked like my moms and had the same shape

- Oh Scottish! I love Scotland! I said.

It was true. I loved everything that was either Scottish, Irish, Iceland-ish, Brittainy-ish or the like. It was, I guessed, because of my past and my ancestors I felt so enamored to those regions.

- Wait, German? Hey, I'm German as well! German and French to be precise!

"cool my parents left for Paris when I was young and my dad is German"
I say spotting the German traits she has

- Paris? Well, that's funny we haven't met before!

I finished brushing Katel's croup, and, putting my hand on it, I walked around her so I could brush the right side now. Again, I started at the neck, removing her soft mane to the other side. Her coat was warm and silky under my fingers and I breathed her straw-odor.

- Wait, your dad is german? I hugely smiled. My dad is too!

"i think we have met, what's your last name?" I ask knowing we had seen each other
"and where we're you born?

- My last name is Silberblut. And by the way, my first name is Eanor.

She brushed slowly Katel's body before putting the currycomb away and taking out the dandy brush.

- I was born in Scotland, I added, brushing her now in the direction of the coat.

Katel whinnied lowly and turned her great head to me.

- Tout doux ma belle, I whispered in French, tout doux...

"that's strange that's my middle name, I'm Zachary kilravock and I was born in Scotland too"

I say getting suspicious

- Really?

I noticed suspicion in his voice, and I had to say I was starting to get nervous too. I tried to hide my face by continuing to brush Katel, but failed; I was flushed.
Having finished the one side with the dandy brush, I passed to the other.

- Are you a sorceror or a knight? I asked to change subject a bit.

He had really... a something. His dark brown hair perhaps. Or the shape of his nose.

"a knight but I also have sorcerer blood" I tell her and suddenly I get an idea

- Sorceror blood? What do you mean? Do you see the Fairy Folk?

Because that was the same for me. Sorcerors and Sorceresses could often see the Fairy Folk or at least feel their presence.
I had finished with the dandy brush, so I put it back and took out the soft brush and used it to homogenize the velvet coat.

"yes sometimes" I say and but the bridle on my horse

I frowned, brushing the other side with the soft brush.

- That's odd, I have to admit. You must be very talented.

I finished brushing the right side, so I took out the hoof pick and started cleaning Katel's hooves, sliding a hand down her leg and pushing with my body against her shoulder.
Katel's hooves were extremely heavy, but I was used to it. After all, she was a warhorse, not a lady's horse.

"I have a question, what's your moms name?" I ask putting a sword sheath on the saddle

- What, her first name?

I slid my hand down Katel's right front foot and lifted the hoof, cleaning it quickly.

- Isa, I said, using the little brush to brush away the dirt.

I let her hoof down and finished cleaning all her hooves. I put the grooming material back into the case and walked to the shelf to put it back. Then, I took Katel's great saddle off the metal bar where it was hanging and put the saddle blanket on her back before attaching the saddle on it.

"that's my moms name too, so that means....." I say dropping the stuff I was holding

My hands were resting on the saddle, shaking.

- I don't believe it, I said abruptly, pushing myself away from Katel. It's impossible. We don't even look alike, we don't even lo-

I had looked up to him and stopped.
I knew now who he reminded me of.
He reminded me of myself.

"your my twin" I tell her nervously shaking

"you reminded me of myself and we both have the same color hair and eyes"

I shook my head again.

- No, no, it's false, I whispered.

I was in a state of shock. I knelt down and buried my face in my hands. I had the sensation of vacuum in my chest, as if my heart wasn't existing.
I had that feeling often, when I was afraid.
